Background Information

The department started as an Industrial Work Experience (IWE) section in the Technical Education Department when KTTC started. In 2002, the IWE became the Industrial Attachment Coordination Section under the leadership of an Industrial Liaison Officer. It became a fully fledged department under a Head of Department in 2007.

The department serves to link what the students have learnt in theory and practice at KTTC with the real life situation in the industries. The internship in industries should last a minimum of 2 months.

The department’s objective is:

“To produce graduates with marketable skills as they enter the world of work either in the formal or the informal sector”
